What's NEW

From the CEO

A belief in potential.

A right to dream.

An opportunity to achieve.

The three lines from our vision statement seem like things many of us take for granted.

That is, unless we happen to be a person with a developmental disability or mental illness or chemical dependency.

Society has not, traditionally, helped these people see and believe in their potential, encouraged them to dream or offered opportunities to achieve.

There are some amazing people who have dedicated their lives to changing that. I am fortunate enough to work with them.

They include the leaders of our three major players in the continuum of mental health care for children: the Department of Human Services, the Family Division of the 10th Circuit Court and SCCMHA.   We have teamed up to plan for the creation of a user-friendly, efficient and seamless system to better meet the needs of children with serious emotional impairments and their families.

They include partners such as Covenant HealthCare, with whom SCCMHA offers 24-hour Crisis Intervention Services … Advanced Care Pharmacy, which offer our consumers “one-stop” convenience in our office … and our Encompass technology team, which has given us the most efficient and technologically sophisticated records and information management system.

They include our network of residential, assisted living, inpatient, outpatient and other providers.

They include one of the state’s most progressive and dynamic mental health authority boards, consumers that serve on all of our quality and planning committees and volunteers whose efforts receive far less public recognition than they deserve.

And most importantly, they include a staff that passionately believes it is their mission to ensure that each of our consumers believes in his or her potential – and fulfills it … has a chance to not only dream, but follow that dream … and is offered every opportunity to achieve.

As I welcome you to our site, I hope you’ll take a moment to learn more about these people and organizations and how they accomplish this amazing and important mission.

Thanks for visiting our site and your interest in SCCMHA.
