ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility Criteria

To receive services, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Be a resident of Saginaw County
  2. Have a developmental or physical disability that started before age twenty-two and is expected to continue; that affects your ability to perform your personal care, learn, earn a living, communicate, live independently, be mobile and self-directed; and is caused by mental retardation, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, or a related condition.
  3. Have a mental illness or emotional disturbance that affects your ability to cope with normal daily living.

Some services and supports have additional criteria that must be met.

Receipt of any service is contingent upon need and service availability.

Speech, Language and Hearing Therapy and Evaluation is treatment to restore or improve voice or hearing. Usually this treatment is ordered by your family physician but in some cases that therapy will be a part of your mental health treatment.
