Training Schedules

Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8-hour training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to appropriate care.

COURSE TYPE INFORMATION:

Live: in-person at A&W Training Facility, 1 Germania Platz, Saginaw, MI  48602

Blended: 2.5 hours of self-led, completion of online pre-work required 1 week prior to start of live, in-person training at A&W Training Facility, 1 Germania Platz, Saginaw, MI  48602

Virtual: 2.5 hours of self-led, completion of online pre-work required 1 week prior to start of live, virtual Zoom session

*To register for a class, please complete and follow directions on the Registration Form for your preferred class date.  

Those who are outside of Saginaw County, MI: $30 Payment is required before confirmation of course registration is sent.

All Yellow sections of the registration form must be completed in order to be successfully registered.  You will receive a confirmation email once your registration is processed.

Training Requirements:

  1. Required to complete the pre-work at least 48 hours to the start of training time (virtual and blended courses)
  2. Required to log into virtual courses/arrival at the training facility at least 5 minutes prior to training start time
  3. I am aware of the cancellation/no show policy below
  4. Required to have properly functioning equipment for virtual courses and will remain on camera and/or remain in the in-person session
  5. Accommodation requests can be made at least 24 hours prior to the start of the training, if needed

Cancellation/No Show Policy:

SCCMHA is still charged by the National Council for no shows and late cancellations. *SAGINAW COUNTY PARTICIPANTS ONLY: If you cancel less than 24 hours prior to training start time; no show the day of training; and/or are late to arrive which results in non-admittance to training, a $25 fee will be billed. Transfer to another training will not be accepted until the $25 fee is paid.
