HELP CVI’S KAREEM BROWN TALKS GUN VIOLENCE AWARENESS WITH SCCMHA STAFF

On June 4, the day before Gun Violence Awareness Day, SCCMHA brought in Saginaw HELP CVI’s Executive Director Kareem Brown to talk about the impact of what gun violence has on a community and how outreach organizations like HELP can work to curtail that.

HELP is a community violence initiative that provides alternatives to violence for the youth of Saginaw, utilizing classes, mentorships, and building community and relationships with others.

With gun violence still a harsh reality in Saginaw, Kareem attended a supervisory meeting at SCCMHA to encourage staff to reach out to HELP for any youth in need of conflict resolution, emotional regulation, and giving Saginaw and Saginaw County youth opportunities for engagement and activities to keep them out of trouble.
