The Saginaw Hoarding Task Force encourages citizens to become more informed about the nature of hoarding conditions, in order to support the overall health and safety of residents and neighbors in local communities. If there is a concern about the welfare of an individual who may be living in a home with hoarding conditions, a request can be made through the Saginaw 9-1-1 non-emergency, business hours line (989-797-4580) for a law enforcement well-being check. Public officials, including law enforcement and/or housing code officials can visit the home and determine if hoarding conditions exist, and the address can also be registered with the 9-1-1 system, including anonymously, in order to promote both the safety of the resident(s) as well as any first responders. Services may also be offered as a result of notice to 9-1-1, and monitoring of the residence with support to the resident can occur.
