Emergency Closure - Specific to A&W Training Facility No Training Modification Working with People and CPI Training

 

Staff who provide Medicaid-funded home and community-based services should complete HCBS training.

This includes:

  •      Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
  •      Case managers
  •      Supports coordinators
  •      Clinicians providing HCBS services
  •      Supervisors and managers overseeing HCBS programs
  •      Residential and community living staff

These staff need to understand HCBS requirements such as person-centered planning, individual rights, choice, community integration, and avoiding practices that are institutional in nature.
All providers must be trained by March 30, 2027.
This training is required annually. 

SCCMHA has been made aware all external training dates are full at this time. Please stay tuned for training announcements with more dates or regularly check back here to see a listing of training dates. 

In order to receive credit on your LMS record for completed training:

     Please log into the LMS > My Courses > and choose DCW HCBS Training SE course > Choose DCW HCBS ILC Training
     Review the upcoming session details for instructor-led DCW HCBS Training and complete the enrollment steps within the LMS. Enrollment directions can be found 
      within the Resources tile on your dashboard. Titled: How to Enroll in an Instructor Led (IL) Course

Please be sure you have access to Sentri EHR prior to the Home Manager training. If you do not have access, you can request the access via this link: External Provider - Add/Remove Staff - Sentri
Sentri EHR access will allow to view the SCCMHA Home Manager Manual.
Use the LMS to enroll in one Home Manager Renewal Training session on Thursday 9/3 OR Wednesday 9/23.
As a contracted SCCMHA AFC Home Manager, you are required to attend 1 session annually.

  • Effective January 2025: During the MDHHS waiver review, it was determined all those serving persons on a waiver must now renew Environmental Emergencies & Fire Safety Training every 3 years. 
  • Training pre-requisites must be completed PRIOR TO registering for SCCMHA training. Orientation to Training is required before attendance to any in-person training courses. Basic Health, Working with People and CPI Physical Intervention for Protection all have prerequisites to training. 
  • Staff MUST be registered and receive a confirmation for training at least 24 business hours prior to start of training or they may not be let into training
  • Please be sure you are communicating with your staff regarding training titles, dates, times and/or if you cancel them for a training, Staff are showing up at A&W Building and they do not know why. SCCMHA has many functions going on throughout the building, so they need to know why they are coming to the A&W building in order to be best directed,
